Ingredients
  • 1 stick of day-old bread
  • 1 liter milk
  • Orange / lemon rind
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  •  100 gr. sugar
  • Flour
  • Egg
  • Seasonal Fruit
  • Ice Cream
Preparation
  1. Heat up the milk with the ornage/lemon rind, sugar and cinnamon; when the milk starts to boil, remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
  2. Cut the bread into slices and soak in warm milk. Let the bread absorb the milk and cool down completely:  you can place in the refrigerater for an hour.
  3. When the bread is cold, coat with flour and egg and fry in plenty of olive oil. Dry off any excess oil and allow to cool.
  4. Serve with seasonal fruit or a light ice cream, vanilla, cinnamon … sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
You can also use dry sponge fingers in this recipe.Sweet wine. We recommend the aged Matusalem made with Palomino (84%) and Pedro Ximenez (16%) of D. O. Jerez-Manzanilla Sanlucar.
