With a slight anise flavor, shiso sprouts are often used to accompany meat or fish dishes such as sushi and carpaccio. Also great with cheese dishes. Often used to prevent possible food poisoning, you’ll frequently find it served with raw fish. Ideal for the proper functioning of the intestinal activity.

How to germinate seeds

To germinate seeds, the first thing you have to do is soak them in a jar filled with water and leave for 24 hour. Then drain and wash the seeds and let them dry thoroughly in a bottle upside down over a net or strainer to prevent the seeds falling out. After 12 hours drying, you can sow the seeds in a pot with soil. Water on a daily basis and cover in black plastic for the first 3 days. Then leave them for 3-4 days in the sun. You can also grow the sprouts in the original glass jar, away from the sun, and with enough moisture for the seeds to germinate. You’ll need to open the jar every 3-4 hours to air out the seeds to prevent mold. You can also germinate the seeds between two damp dishcloths and keep these cloths in a box away from sunlight over the first 3 days .
